Position Papers

12/17/2012 - Quality Improvement and Rating Scale (QRIS)

In 2012, Governor Malloy responded to the state's loss of 'Race to the Top' funds in part with legislation authorizing the study and development of a Quality Improvement and Rating Scale (QRIS) directed at early child care programs.  Through his Early Childhood Cabinet, a work group submitted its initial proposal for QRIS in CT.  You can read their proposal "QRIS for Connecticut" here www.ctearlychildhood.org/qris.html
 
CCCA has reviewed the proposal and developed its comments and recommendations as pertains to the private childcare industry in our position paper below.
